OK Really Batman !!

Peek-A-B00  !
Is that Batman peeking around the corner of the building ?  But you really have to admit it does look like the  " Batman Mask " when you are coming up I65 coming into Nashville this Batman aka AT &T building sticks out at you and yes for me & my family who are originally from the North ( we have lived here about 8 years now  ) when we first came down here the first thing that came out of our mouth's was " Wow that looks like Batman ! "

This whole evening actually started out with my husband and I heading out to Nashville for a wedding . It was being held at The Shriner's so was the reception, well we started out with a half a tank of gas & tried to pull up the directions on our GPS but we thought it was out of date because it would not give us an address that high. So my husband printed it out from map quest but not exactly to the Shriner's but we thought close.
So as we were driving we realized it was taking us to downtown Nashville ! Not only once but twice  ! unbelievable and No both times it sent us in different directions and somehow led us back into Nashville ! We needed North Nashville. So any way I decided that since we were in Nashville I would take some pictures and post them for y'all to see a little glimpse of Nashville.

These are just some random photo shots that I took as we were driving around some streets of down town Nashville. Below is a picture of a horse and carriage which they have like four of them that you can pay I think like $15 or $20 and they show you around  down town. What you don't see because it's across the street I couldn't get a picture because of the car in  front of us at the light , oh yea it's a trolley type bus  that has peddles all around it , like a bicycle and it has a bar and bartenders in the middle serving the guests who are peddling  around ! Never been on either one yet !

This picture is of the Hard Rock Cafe which is right across the Cumberland River from the LP Field . During the floods of May 2010 the Hard Rock was underwater and they had to refurbish their Cafe along with a lot of other business downtown !

This is a picture looking across  at LP Field

This is a bridge that goes over the Cumberland River we were heading towards the highway

Another shot of LP Field as we were driving away from it getting onto the highway
And as this whole story started out i
n the first place we were heading to that wedding . We did end up finding the road that the Shriner's was suppose to be on but the way the address had us going was up and we drove and started climbing and the address all of a sudden started changing . So we found a place to turn around and headed back down the same road other direction as we were driving I just happened to catch a large white bow with names attached to it I hollered stop I think we just went by it ! We turned around again this time only a couple of driveways past and sure enough " What a sight to see it was The Shriner's ! Come to find out we looked at the address again on the invitation and it was misprinted with one to many numbers in the address. We weren't the only ones I guess the Groom told my husband. We made it just as they were starting to take the pictures and just in time to eat and mingle !
This is the gift that my husband & I made for them . It/s one of our pine cone roofed gourd birdhouses that we painted in their wedding colors and theme. We hope they like it !
All and All it ended up being a nice evening with a Beautiful Bride & Groom and some nice company to chat with. A Great date night for us !
I hope to be able to get back to Nashville for some of the night life shoots and I will be blogging them maybe a video ! What do you think something you would like to see ??

                                                    Until The Next Time ,

Is That A Castle I See !!

We decided to take a drive Sunday afternoon to Nolensville to take some more of my painted items to Shabby Lane in Nolensville.. There are a couple of ways you can get there but we prefer the back way which is HWY 96 which is beautiful !

At the one point on highway 96 it crosses over Hwy 840 and where it does there is this castle that sits back off to the side, you get to it from highway 96. you can see it for miles weather you are driving up 96 or
840 it's shiny copper roofs make it easy to spot. As you get
closer you see it's a real castle !
I found this small article below about the castle :

If that’s your final answer, then you apparently have never driven the scenic stretch of State Route 840 near Arrington and Triune, where a white stone and brick structure rises through the trees on the west side of the road. It looks strikingly like, well … a castle.
Castle Gwynn in Arrington, Tennessee
And, in fact, it is. It’s Castle Gwynn, a startling replica of a 12th-century Welsh border castle and the private home of Nashville-native Mike Freeman, a portrait photographer, and his wife, Jackie, a retired schoolteacher. It’s also the location of the annual Tennessee Renaissance Festival each May.

Then on with our Sunday drive to Historic  Downtown Nolensville !

Antique Store

,
The Amish Market is a big part of the downtown section , they carry a lot of Amish food , they have a small restaurant inside , they have flowers , it's a very nice store in the downtown area to visit.

This is the back of Shabby Lane in Nolensville

This is the small creek that runs behind Shabby Lane  & the Amish Store

This is the front side of the Amish Market
This is looking kinda south east down the street

The front of the Amish Market

An Antique store next to the Amish Market

Looking across the street from the market

We decided to take a walk and ran across this sign that said  "Historic Village" it was like a small little park

This is a plaque that sits in front of the Bed & Breakfast that tells of the town of Nolensville . Very Interesting

And Yes we took the drive to Nolensville so that we stop by Shabby Lane and drop off a few items that I had finished .

Here are the two children's stools that we got finished and she placed them in the children's section in the store.

Top and bottom is another shelf that we finished , it's crackled in black then painted with pink roses  ,green  leaves and vines

Top and bottom picture here is a plain shelf that we crackled and the painted Purple English Roses , buds ,leaves and vines, it's also finished and at the store.

Top and bottom are the children's stools that we also finished and put in the store.

This is at the store where she had placed the black crackled shelf in the front window, you can see it from the inside and outside and on the porch she hung a couple of the gourd birdhouses.
I'm tell you if you haven't been there to Historic Nolensville  or to Shabby Lane you really need to check it out !

I hope you enjoyed this little visit with us to explore the area knows as Nolensville Tennessee.
Next time I I hope to take you on a few sights in and around Murfreesboro and to go on the hunt at some yard sales !
So Please stop back by for our next adventure and of course I'm not going to forget all the new projects we are working on !

Until The Next Time !

A Little Town Called Christiana Tennessee

I had to take my dog Kaiden to Anderson Vets (a good ole country vet that we highly recommend ) yesterday he's only about 10 mins. from my house  and just around the corner from a quaint little town of Christiana.  The town of Christiana is in middle Tennessee it sits between ( my) City of Murfreesboro  and  Shelbyville and is about 30 minutes Southeast of Nashville. It sits just off of HWY 231 on HWY 269. Right now it's still a country ride out of the hustle and bustle of the city !!

There is the Beautiful open farmland , by no means is Christiana very populated at least not in the small ole town of Christiana. Yes there are small to medium subdivisions popping up all over on the out skirts of Christiana. Like my subdivision is on the far south side of Murfreesboro my backyard is considered Christiana and my front Murfreesboro..

This is the Famous Millers Grocery & the  truck above sits on the corner and everybody know it advertises Millers Grocery Yes I know it says Grocery but it's a GREAT place to eat !! Just ask anybody around even tour buses stop in for a bite to eat ! But they are usually so busy that you need to make reservations . Millers has been on The Tennessee Crossroads a few times  if your in the area you need to stop in & try some GREAT Southern cooking !!

The gift store was actually  " The Whistle Stop " there is a train track that runs right behind the gift store and is still in use today ( the train track is still in use ) this same train track runs by my house , well thank goodness not right next to my house but about 4 miles away some nights at my house you would swear it was right outside our window !!

Yes even Christiana has a fire department it's a volunteer department but I'm kinda partial to them my son & husband are on the department actually they have two stations.

Yes I had to post a picture of my son Chace ! I am so proud of him that he chose to give back and protect our community !

Leave a comment if you have ever eaten at Miller Grocery and what the food critic in you thinks ??

Until the net time !
