It's that time of year to start thinking about gardening and landscaping your yard that is if the grip of winter has finally let go in your part of the country! It's the end of April so I sure hope that we can go ahead and plan and plant ! So this year I decided I would decorate a corner in my yard my own artwork ! Of course I am making extra so if you like what I'm doing and want to buy some I will have them for sale ! Need a special pattern on a stepping stone just email me and I can see what I may be able to help you with.
Of course you don't want to use your really good paint brushes for painting on cement because they won't stay good for very long. Now I also don't mean use just any old brush that won't work either it needs to have some pretty tough bristles for brushing on the cement and it needs to be able to lay down enough paint at one time ( you can go back over the painted area again if needed . As you can see I painted some with swirls on them and some without . Which ones do you like better ?
These are just some of the stepping stones that I have done so far ! I am also working on some Dragonflies and some flowers . I have thought about Turtles and Frogs but well maybe but .....
I have also made some Big birdbaths from ex large clay pots and saucers. This one was made of two 14 in clay pots and two 16 in clay saucers ,sealed the pots then painted them with outdoor paints. Then a couple of coats of sealer over the paint. The birds Loved it ! You could put bird feed on the bottom saucer and the birds bath in the top saucer that collects the water,
Then there is this new birdhouse I did , It's made from clay pots and saucers , This one here is more the birds who don't like to be seen it's the " camo " house ! It stays hidden very well amongst the leaves & branch's.
As soon as I get my garden figured out or maybe this will all lead up to a quite sitting area in my yard where my Butterfly bushes and rose bushes are and work this all into that, add a few hand crafted and hand painted Butterfly houses and a garden arch with hanging flowers ........ Yes that has me thinking Leave some comments or pictures of your ideas if your planning a garden or sitting area ?
Until the next time !
Happy Spring Time !!
Cheryl
